Zapier payment matching: payments checked against your fee sheet

The problem

Many businesses get paid by bank transfer and keep their fees in a spreadsheet.

Each month someone reads the bank statement line by line.

Then they type each payment into the right place on the sheet.

That takes time, and it's easy to put a payment against the wrong person.

What I can set up

When you save your monthly bank statement (the spreadsheet file your bank lets you download) in a Google Drive folder, your fee sheet is updated for you.

1. A new statement in your Google Drive folder starts it.
2. It reads each payment on the statement.
3. It checks each payment against the people on your fee sheet.
4. It adds the amount paid next to the right name, for that month.
5. It's set up not to write over an amount that's already there.
6. Any payment it can't place goes on a separate list of payments to check.

You stay in charge.

Your staff check that list and decide where each payment goes.

It runs in your own Zapier and Google accounts.
